Join Kathleen Reeder at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum for a “wildlife in the desert” experience in the Tucson Mountains! Not a museum in the usual sense, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a 98 acre zoo, botanical garden, art gallery, natural history museum, and aquarium. There are two miles of walking paths through various desert habitats with over 200 animal species, including native mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and birds.
From October – April, the Museum has a daily raptor free flight, described as a dynamic bird of prey flight demonstration in the open desert to showcase natural behaviors of native birds. The Museum also has a wonderful hummingbird aviary and several butterfly-dense gardens. Each year Kathleen teaches wildlife photo workshops at the Museum to help photographers capture the beauty of Arizona-native wildlife. The workshop includes an online instructional webinar and then an all-day wildlife photography workshop at the Museum, with EXCLUSIVE early access to the morning Raptor Free Flight. Upcoming workshop dates are:
- Dec 16, 2017
- Feb 10, 2018
- Mar 3, 2018
- Dec 1, 2018
